Went to the local garden centre last Friday. They had opened a new flower shop in there, with the most gorgeous cut flowers. I could have spent all afternoon there taking pictures of them but I only dared to take one or two quick shots.
Have a Very Happy Bokeh Wendesday Everyone!

Blue flower:
Nelumbo nucifera From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (Redirected from Lotus flower)
Blue flower / Lotus:
Nelumbo nucifera, known by a number of names including Indian lotus, sacred lotus, bean of India, or simply lotus. Botanically, Nelumbo nucifera (Gaertn.) may also be referred to by its former names, Nelumbium speciosum (Wild.) or Nymphaea nelumbo. This plant is an aquatic perennial. Under favorable circumstances its seeds may remain viable for many years, with the oldest recorded lotus germination being from that of seeds 1300 years old recovered from a dry lakebed in northeastern China.[1]
A common misconception is referring to the lotus as a water-lily (Nymphaea), an entirely different plant as can be seen from the centre of the flower, which clearly lacks the structure that goes on to form the distinctive circular seed pod in the Nelumbo nucifera.[citation needed] It should also be noted that water-lilies come in colors of white to yellow where as the lotus only in hues of pink.[citation needed]
Native to Greater India and commonly cultivated in water gardens, the lotus is the national flower of India

The Jardin Exotique de Monaco is a botanical garden situated in Monaco. It was opened in 1933, and has a wide variety of succulent plants, especially cactuses. Within the garden, there is a large underground cave in which there are many stalagmites and stalactites. Evidence of prehistoric human inhabitants has been found in the cave. There is a museum of Prehistoric Anthropology in the garden displaying many of those finds.
Aeonium arboreum – the genus Aeonium is distributed throughout the Canary Islands, Madeira, Morocco and eastern Africa. Each of the succulent stems will flower and fruit only once and then die back; in a single word, the plant is monocarpic.

Autumn has arrived at last, bringing milder weather and even some rain. The garden has recovered remarkably well after the horrific summer we’ve just experienced. Compare this view with the same scene last January.

Secret Garden
By Bruce Springsteen
She’ll let you in her house
If you come knockin’ late at night
She’ll let you in her mouth
If the words you say are right
If you pay the price
She’ll let you deep inside
But there’s a secret garden she hides She’ll let you in her car
To go drivin’ round
She’ll let you into the parts of herself
That’ll bring you down
She’ll let you in her heart If you got a hammer and a vise
But into her secret garden, don’t think twice
You’ve gone a million miles
How far’d you get
To that place where you can’t remember
And you can’t forget
She’ll lead you down a path
There’ll be tenderness in the air
She’ll let you come just far enough
So you know she’s really there
She’ll look at you and smile
And her eyes will say
She’s got a secret garden
Where everything you want
Where everything you need Will always stay
A million miles away
and also….
