Considered the world over as a weed, the thistle is one of the national flowers of Scotland.
It may be hated by gardeners and farmers but is an incredibly beautiful plant and flower, and being quite large does not move around in the wind too much (making it a lot easier to photograph than more delicate summer wild flowers)!

16 Random things about me…

1. On the wrong side of 40
2. Have a beautiful wife “Aussie Jules”
3. Only started photography October 2007 while carrying Julies Canon G9 around for her.
4. Started using the G9 more after Julie started a flickr account for me.
5. Bought myself a Canon 50D in October 2008.(My own camera at last)
6. Might workout what the buttons and numbers mean one day.
7. I only take photos to post on flickr.
8. That must make me a candidate for flickr’s anonymous.
9. I worked on a sheep/wheet farm when I left school.
10. The last drought put an end to that job.
11. I became a carpenter/builder and my last house I built was 50 squares for my accountant.
12 Now I am a Manager/Designer/Engineer for a Prefabrication Factory.
13 We supply prefab frame products for all types of buildings, including housing, hospitals, schools, etc.
14. I don’t smoke and wish ciggies were banned.
15. I only drink occasionally and only a little.
16. I have lived in the country all my life.( I don’t like cities)
